CECA

Technical

CECA advises members on a range of technical matters. We have direct access to a large number of civil engineering specialists who can provide up-to-date and accurate information.

CECA is also actively involved in a series of national technical committees, providing members to become involved with influencing future standards and product specifications.

CECA's current involvement includes:

  • BSI Concrete Product Testing Committee
  • BSI 88110 Design of Concrete Segmental Tunnel Linings Code of Practice
  • CEEQUAL Technical Advisory Group (TAG)
  • CARES Policy Advisory Group
  • CARES Sustainability Committee

BIM

Although BIM (Building Information Modelling/Management) is well established in the building sector it has yet to be widely adopted by the civil infrastructure sector and, in particular, by SMEs.

CECA is able to signpost those wanting to become more engaged in BIM due to excellent contacts with BIM 4 Infrastructure (UK) or 'BIM4IUK' for short.

For more information, or if you have any technical enquiries relating to the infrastructure sector, e-mail CECA's Civil Engineering Director Peter Crosland at petercrosland@ceca.co.uk
