Our ‘30 Under 30’ series celebrates the emerging talent helping to shape the future of civil engineering. This profile features Saif Akeel, a Site Engineer in Kier Infrastructure’s Environment sector, working across projects in the South West.
After completing Kier’s Graduate Scheme, Saif has taken on increasing responsibility throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation to handover. His work includes setting out, quality management, resolving site issues and coordinating with clients, subcontractors and designers.
Saif particularly enjoys the variety and problem-solving involved in site engineering, balancing technical challenges with programme requirements and project constraints. He takes pride in the responsibility entrusted to him and the strong relationships he has developed across project teams.
At 26, Saif’s commitment to high standards and continuous development demonstrates the contribution young professionals are making to infrastructure delivery. His ambition is to build his skills, take on greater responsibility and deliver projects that make a lasting difference.
