The next meeting of the CECA Rail Group will be held on Thursday 14 October and will be a Teams event. The theme will be “Doing things differently” and we currently have 4 speakers lined up:
- Rob Cairns, Network Rail’s Capital Delivery Director Eastern, will explain his plans for more efficient delivery of projects
- James Le Grice, the Department for Transport’s Head of Rail Supply Chain Policy, will go through the implications of the Williams Shapps Rail Review
- Eddie Blackett, from the Flow Bridge Team, will talk to us about the “Flow” composite footbridge
- Richard Jones, Business and Partnership Manager from the Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation, will outline plans for the roll out of Very Light Rail (including their track-form)
There is a clear need for more efficient delivery of civil engineering work on the railway and this event should show 4 routes to achieving this.
