New to NEC, or looking to refresh your knowledge? This half-day course is designed to give you a clear understanding of some of the key principles of NEC contracts and, importantly, how they work in practice.
Whether you are new to NEC contracts or simply want to strengthen your understanding, this session will help you navigate some of the areas that can often cause uncertainty, particularly around compensation events and delay.
Delivered by Sarah Wilson, Partner at Bevan Brittan, the session will include:
Introduction to NEC – understanding the key principles and how NEC contracts are intended to work
Compensation Events – what they are, why they matter and how they affect the contract
Notifying Compensation Events – understanding the importance of timely and correct notification
Qualifying Compensation Events & the Schedule of Cost Components – exploring when an event qualifies and how costs are assessed
Delay under NEC – understanding the key principles and how delay is dealt with under the contract
This is more than just an introduction to the NEC contract. The session aims to give delegates practical knowledge they can take back to the workplace, helping to identify potential compensation events, understand contractual obligations and have greater confidence when dealing with delay.
Ideal for anyone who works with NEC contracts and wants to build their knowledge, refresh their understanding or gain greater confidence in applying the contract in practice.
Breakfast sandwich & refreshements included.
