Thank you to all who attended our Members’ Meeting at Sandy Park on Wednesday, which was Hannah’s first meeting as Regional Director for the South West. Following feedback from the South West Advisory Group Hannah delivered an introduction to herself and career path to CECA and an oversight of the governance structure.
The meeting included an interactive discussion hosted by Kevin Valentine (CECA Southern Chair who kindly stepped in for Abie Hearn) with Hannah, focusing on how CECA can best support our members. The basis for this discussion was the CECA (Southern) Ltd Chairs Strategic Plan 2026-28, which has been developed by both the Southern Board and South West Advisory Group.
Through a poll members in the room were asked to pick their top two priorities from seven key themes which are based on the core pillars of CECA.

Our guest speakers, Charlie Statham, and Jonny Gurr from Exeter University and Matt Ewings from BAM Ground Engineering, delivered informative and engaging presentations, which generated good discussion. As some of the content is not for wider circulation, adapted slides from all sessions will be shared with Members shortly.
