These seminars are aimed at developers, directors, project managers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants. In particular from those organisations; commercial directors, commercial managers, quantity surveyors, programmers and site managers.

The Seminar will discuss :

Common Z clauses; over the years the tendency for Clients to require substantial amendments to NEC 3 and 4 has vastly increased. In this session we look at common changes that are made including 17.1 Ambiguities and inconsistencies/requirements for instructions; 19.1 Prevention; 21 Contractor’s design; 22 Using the Contractor’s design; 28 Assignment; 34.1 Instructions to stop work; 50 Payment; 60 Compensation Events & concurrent delays; 70 Title to Plant and Materials; 80 Indemnity; New clauses; Secondary Options.

This will be particularly useful to those who are involved in negotiation of contracts and those dealing with the management and administration throughout the project.

Attendees will also be able to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the seminar.

Sarah Wilson, Partner at Bevan Brittan

For more than 20 years Sarah has specialised in providing strong, solutions-based legal advice in heavyweight engineering and construction projects. Sarah deals with high value matters across a variety of sectors, including chemical works, energy, utilities, waste, and housebuilding. Sarah often appears in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) in relation to construction disputes. She also has in-depth experience of alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation, adjudication and arbitration (domestic and international), as well as dealing with arbitration ‘appeals’ and adjudication enforcement proceedings. Sarah is also an expert on the majority of standard forms of construction contract and particularly NEC, JCT ICE, IChemE and MF1. Sarah was commended in a past edition of The Legal 500 UK for being someone “you would want to have on your side in contentious matters” for her “robust, direct and reliable advice” as she “always finds the best path for resolving issues”.
