These seminars are aimed at developers, directors, project managers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants. In particular from those organisations; commercial directors, commercial managers, quantity surveyors, programmers and site managers.

Identifying Compensation Events ; in the session we will

  • identify and review the criteria for each CE (clause 60.1 and elsewhere) within the standard NEC 3 / 4
  • look at how prescriptive the provisions are and
  • the importance of the WI/Scope and Accepted Programme in establishing a CE

Attendees will also be able to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the seminar.

Sarah Wilson, Partner at Bevan Brittan

For more than 20 years Sarah has specialised in providing strong, solutions-based legal advice in heavyweight engineering and construction projects. Sarah deals with high value matters across a variety of sectors, including chemical works, energy, utilities, waste, and housebuilding. Sarah often appears in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) in relation to construction disputes. She also has in-depth experience of alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation, adjudication and arbitration (domestic and international), as well as dealing with arbitration ‘appeals’ and adjudication enforcement proceedings. Sarah is also an expert on the majority of standard forms of construction contract and particularly NEC, JCT ICE, IChemE and MF1.
