Health & safety

CECA NW Ltd will:

  • Support the expansion of Stop. Make a Change activity in the region
  • Maintain an active link with the Health & Safety Forum, with a representative from the CECA NW Executive Committee, and host regional meetings of CONIAC
  • Run seminars to address health and safety issues, such as CDM regulations
  • Maintain membership of and an active role within the Merseyside & Cheshire Construction Safety Group
  • Ensure all prospective members of CECA NW have all relevant health and safety accreditation, as set out in our membership criteria
  • Involve the HSE in future meetings

Procurement

CECA NW Ltd will:

  • Develop the CECA Procurement Report, and support the development of a report on Frameworks to reflect the interests of regional members
  • Support the work of CECA National in the development of an industry standard pre-qualification
  • Seek to influence key clients identified by the CECA pipeline research
  • Arrange at least 10 client liaison meetings
  • Hold a sector-based supply chain conference

Promotion

CECA NW Ltd will:

  • Play a lead role in the development of a branding strategy for CECA
  • Expand its regional coverage, through the development of a group for members to the north of the region: CECA North by NW
  • Liaise with regional and trade media, politicians and influencers
  • Work with CECA NW Foundations to promote civil engineering
  • Prepare the annual flyer on members’ capability and capacity, and issue to clients
  • Support the upgrade of the CECA website
  • Seek to attract 5 new members or associate members

People

CECA NW Ltd will:

  • Increase its training programme, with legal seminars, mock trials, courses for managers and supervisory staff
  • Work with CITB to develop a gap analysis of civil engineering training provision across the North West
  • Forge closer links with the region’s universities and training providers, attending Industry Advisory Boards and similar groups
  • Update the CECA NW video that is aimed at attracting new entrants to the industry
  • Support the work of CECA NW Foundations, to encourage students to enter the industry
  • Support the work of the NW Contractors’ Training Group
  • Continue to sponsor groups of young people interested in entering the industry

Working in partnership

CECA NW Ltd will:

  • Maintain its close working links with other industry bodies, via the NW Construction & Infrastructure Alliance
  • Support CECA NW Foundations to develop inter-professional networking events
  • Encourage other industry bodies to attend CECA NW’s flagship events: the Awards Dinner and the annual Golf Day
