The seminar will provide an opportunity to hear about and discuss some of the key changes which will be introduced by the Procurement Act.

Aimed at developers, directors, project managers, contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants.

In particular from those organisations; commercial directors, commercial managers, quantity surveyors, programmers and site managers.

Plus, public bodies including local authorities, NHS, central government, and utilities as clients in construction projects.

What are the key changes under the Procurement Act and what do they mean for you?

Bevan Brittan will answer four key questions about the changes:

· Does price no longer matter? We look at how wider social or environmental benefits are factored into the Act and what that means for construction procurement.

· What does a “fully transparent procurement system” look like? We explore the Government’s vision for transparency, how that is implemented in the Act and how this information will be used by suppliers.

· Will the new provisions around management of public sector contracts help construction contracts to run more smoothly? We discuss the payment and publication provisions introduced by the Procurement Act and the pros and cons for those managing construction contracts.

· What does debarment mean for you? We examine the new rules relating to exclusion and the new debarment list, considering how the practices of suppliers and public sector buyers will need to change and tips for doing so.

The seminar will provide an opportunity for networking and attendees will also be able to participate in a Q&A session.

Rrefreshments & breakfast sandwiches will be provided on arrival.

PLEASE NOTE: A non-attendance fee of £50 will be charged to anybody who does not provide 48 hours notice of cancellation.
