The SOMAX Construction Training Centre specialises in high quality Plant Training to ITSSAR, NPORS and CPCS standard. Our co-funding option means that we can offer ultra-competitive, market beating day rates for commercial training – with the option of FREE assessment to ascertain current ability level, so as not to keep you off-site for any longer than needed. The centre also runs pre-employment, scaffolding, groundworks and driver training as well as being a CSCS test centre.
Our new Level 2 Plant Operative Apprenticeship is a truly fantastic offer, which comes at just the right time. Within this 15 month apprenticeship, candidates become qualified in the Ride on Roller, Forward Tipping Dumper, Telehandler and 360 Excavator – as well as completing their CSCS (if needed), Plant Vehicle Marshalling and Assembling a Portfolio for End Point Assessment. We have worked with employers to construct the programme, so candidates complete their CSCS in week 1 and their Ride on Roller in Month 2 – allowing any candidate to quickly become an asset to the team. In addition to this fantastic course, working closely with the Weston College Apprenticeship Team and the CITB – we can secure you up to £10,000 of grant funding for taking an apprentice on into your organisation before 30 September 2021 – this includes Apprenticeship incentive funding, CITB grants and Apprenticeship completion funding PLUS if your apprentice is challenged by the geography to come to train with us here in Weston – our friends at the CITB can support them to complete a travel claim, where they will fund 80% of travel/overnight costs.
