The proposed training programme for 2023/24 is based on the following themes :

Contract support : this is based on rolling out further modules of the successful NEC4 programme

Carbon support : an online training programme is being developed in partnership with Cynnal Cymru which will focus on Carbon Literacy, Carbon Management and Biodiversity

Legal support : proposals are being developed to support a Mock Trial scenario (potentially based on Service Strikes) and a CDM Workshop focusing on legal implications

Political support :  this would entail a 2023/24 Politics and Infrastructure Overview arranged by our public affairs consultants

Social Value support : proposals for training in social value and the launch of contractor specific education resources are in development with partners.

Leadership and Management training via CECA Wales/Lighthouse Group

      • 18th & 19th June  – Achieving Performance Through People (2 days)
        Topics covered include: Leadership styles. Leading and motivating teams.
        Effective communication. Coaching and providing feedback.
        Persuading and influencing.

      • 2nd July  – Developing Yourself as a Team Leader
        Topics covered include: Understanding the role and responsibilities of a
        Team Leader. Seeking feedback to develop own performance.

      • 10th & 11th September – Handling Difficult Situations
        Topics covered include:Managing team performance.
        Managing poor performance and disciplinary matters.
        Managing conflict on site. Supporting work-related stress.
        Managing a diverse workforce.

      • 8th October – Work Based Mentor Introduction (half day)
        Topics covered include: Understand core coaching and mentoring principles
        and their role in apprenticeship standards.Address barriers in mentor-apprentice
        relationships and enhance communication skills
